Installed a set of these Gabriel Max Control shocks on my WJ Jeep. At first everything seemed fine, good handling and stability. After about 5,000 miles the rear wheels started rattling and driving me crazy! I replaced the upper arm A, stabilizer links and still noisy. I bought a set of chassis ears and found them to be my new shocks. I jumped through hoops and had to pay shipping to send them back. I replaced them and the problem came back 6 months later. Now my front right hut started to rattle violently. I took it off and it has the same issue that others have mentioned (top end of stroke is not dampened and internal bushings creak). I called Gabriel and the rep didn't want to hear about any problems and said I had to go through the dealer I bought them from. Thank you Gabriel So send them again to have the same problem? I do not think so. These shock absorbers are of poor quality or construction. Cut my losses and buy from another manufacturer! Installed a set of KYB shocks and all my problems went away.
