Bought these after my old BackBeat Fits completely died after 4 years. I wore them for two 5 mile runs and around the house before finally requesting a refund and buying a new pair of old BackBeat Fits (they are just great running headphones). I was in awe of the 2100s, but getting them in the end sucked. Here's a comparison between the two models: CONTROL: This was a deal breaker. The volume control on the left ear is practically unusable for the 2100s. Yes, you can long press to turn the volume down, but good luck turning it back up. Incredibly uncomfortable even when I was at home and not running. I ended up having to use my phone controls to turn the volume back up after turning it down, which I don't want to do while running. The older version of BackBeat Fit doesn't have this problem as there are dedicated buttons and pressing them works fine. It also seems that there's a slightly longer delay between the press and the action of the phone on the 2100, which I don't notice on the older model. It doesn't matter, it's just weird since it's a step backwards. The app functions to change the function of the left ear button are useless to me. Maybe someone will (maybe?) use it, but I can't imagine ever having to tap my ear for a timer - I'd just use a clock or something. Also, when you use this feature, the headphones no longer have a way to adjust the volume (what?!). EARPHONES THAT FIT YOUR EARS: Check the attached image for a comparison between the new 2100 (above) and the BackBeat Fit (below). While I often forget I'm even wearing an old model, the new model burns my ears and gets a little annoying towards the end of my runs. The 2100s fit snugly around the ears, and although I could find that the headphones themselves also feel a little less comfortable (although the old Fits go well with the 2100s if you want to swap them out). I thought that after some time the "tightnessโ around the ears would go away, but after comparing the two models it became clear that the problem was in the design. The 2100s fit a lot tighter. Another downgrade. AUDIO FEEDBACK / AUDIO QUALITY: I didn't hear the audio hiss that many reviewers wrote about. The volume difference between old and new is negligible at best and certainly not worth an upgrade. While this doesn't affect the headphones in any way, the quality of the audio feedback (power on, time remaining, etc.) has been significantly reduced. Again, it doesn't really matter, but having such a significant drop in quality between product iterations is completely odd. After getting my new (old) BackBeat Fits, I put them on, went for a run and didn't make it. Do not look back. They fitted perfectly straight away, sounded great and I have no regrets bringing back the 2100s.
