I'm glad I followed my intuition and tried it!

Tired of walking around with iPhone headphones threatening to fall out of my ears every 30 seconds, I spent most of Friday night looking for an update to my running audio game . I found this Plantronics BBF 2100 on several runner sites with solid reviews. The thing is. Revain had many whiny (audiophile?) reviews of the 'Spike' and 'they're a lot worse than the previous model [which is now almost sold out]'. So I hesitated to buy them. I finally decided to try them out because they seemed like…

Don't waste your money

Like many other reviewers I had an earlier model of Backbeat Fit bluetooth headphones and loved them for many (I think at least 4) years. I run 6 days a week and sweat like crazy but they have held up great. Eventually they stopped working, so I ordered a replacement. New is NOT better. As mentioned, there is some weird static noise in the background. But I could live with that. After 3 weeks of use everything was going well, and then one morning in the middle of a run the volume suddenly went…

Stick with old version (comparison included)

Bought these after my old BackBeat Fits completely died after 4 years. I wore them for two 5 mile runs and around the house before finally requesting a refund and buying a new pair of old BackBeat Fits (they are just great running headphones). I was in awe of the 2100s, but getting them in the end sucked. Here's a comparison between the two models: CONTROL: This was a deal breaker. The volume control on the left ear is practically unusable for the 2100s. Yes, you can long press to turn the…

Amazing headphones with a fatal flaw

I have had the original Backbeat Fit headphones for many years and absolutely love them. I've often used them 3-4 hours a day, they stay comfortable and just keep working. After a lot of abuse they finally started breaking and I decided to try the new version. I've seen a lot of lukewarm reviews about them, but overall they seemed similar to the original reviews, most of which I felt were unfair or just plain wrong. As mentioned before, but it always seems to get overlooked, these headphones…

Changed 3 times, broke again, abolished forever.

I needed something durable for the gym so I wouldn't completely ruin my good headphones. My ear piercings were not meant for headphones and these seemed perfect. The first pair (bought late November 2018) worked great: comfortable fit, easy pairing, decent sound. I found the fitness headphones! Then one day out of nowhere they stopped loading (early January 2019). I traded them in for my second pair and they were great until the left earbud started emitting eardrum piercing static (early March…

Pros
  • Stability and comfort: a flexible and lightweight neck strap that stays in place during exercise so you don't have to fiddle with the fit
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
