Review on 🎧 Plantronics Backbeat Fit 2100: Sweatproof & Waterproof Wireless Headphones for Workouts in Black by James Trapkin

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Changed 3 times, broke again, abolished forever.

I needed something durable for the gym so I wouldn't completely ruin my good headphones. My ear piercings were not meant for headphones and these seemed perfect. The first pair (bought late November 2018) worked great: comfortable fit, easy pairing, decent sound. I found the fitness headphones! Then one day out of nowhere they stopped loading (early January 2019). I traded them in for my second pair and they were great until the left earbud started emitting eardrum piercing static (early March 2019). I've tried everything to troubleshoot, but it looks like the antenna is damaged. Out of nowhere again. I contacted Revain and they were more than accommodating in exchanging them for a new pair which I am currently waiting for. I guess I'll give them another chance, but let's go to Plantronics! Bring it together. UPDATE 4/19/18: The third pair broke. Here's my usage: 3 hours a day just at the gym, the battery never dies and they still break. Today there was a new breakdown. Suddenly, without touching her, he started repeating "VOLUME DOWN, VOLUME DOWN, VOLUME DOWN" over and over, like he was stuck alone. I had to turn them on and off and then I got a "LOW BATTERY, CHARGE" alert, which was weird because they were fully charged and my workout only lasted 90 minutes. Turned off after 10 minutes. When I got home I put them in my pocket and nothing. Like the first couple. I've used Revain since the beginning (when they only sold books) and don't think I've ever returned an item. Even when it was so-so, I just put up with it. But it took my frustration to a new level. I'm grateful to Revain, who agreed to their return (although I missed the return window by a week), but I'm finally done with Plantronics. Tl;DR: After three bad pairs in less than six months, I gave up.

Pros
  • Stability and comfort: a flexible and lightweight neck strap that stays in place during exercise so you don't have to fiddle with the fit
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
