my hamster uses this as his main skin so he likes it and seems to be quite durable. Various entrances and levels make it a hamster toy and hideout. My hamster treats the top floor like a tunnel toy by jumping out. Because it is made of wood and is not sealed, it will be difficult to clean if your hamster pees on it. The wood material also feels a little splintery, so you can seal it yourself to smooth it out and make cleaning easier. There are also many versions of this house. Some look exactly the same, some are different colors, some are made from a different (maybe better) material, so do some research before you decide to buy. I know that Petco sells something similar, if not the same, for less money on their online store, which I wasn't aware of at the time.
