My father's business is selling lumber and it's incredibly important that he really misses the country - his business depends on it ! We did a little research and concluded that despite the fact that he's lived there all his 67 years and knows the forest like the back of his hand, making sure his coordinates in the forest were accurate was amazing remote areas of far north Minnesota. . He is very happy and regrets that he didn't "spread" something like this many years ago! (I think it was less about "emptiness" and more about realizing that even HE can find some technology to his advantage - ha!)
