The product protects the nails but the surface is not smooth after use. This was a problem when I used the tool to remove the dried glue from the plexiglass. It quickly became apparent that the tool was deeply scratching the plexiglass when I tried to be gentle with it. They're good for a few light uses and then useless. The plastic material is too soft and a good sharp edge will deteriorate quickly, causing the edges to become jagged and damaging the surface you are trying to scratch. In most cases it is better to use a sharp metal scraper blade instead.
