My dentist advised me to try a mouth guard because of my temporomandibular joint. I'm amazed at the improvement when I wear this at night. It's not very comfortable for me yet and I wake up a few times a night. It's not that it rubs (no) or that it doesn't fit (it fits). I'm just not used to something dangling in my mouth and my tongue exploring relentlessly. I will keep trying because it helps a lot. Eventually I might want to buy a special guard that doesn't have side panels, but until then it fits my budget and my mouth and helps relieve TMJ pain.
