I was looking for the perfect, stylish hiking shoe for my upcoming trip to Europe. I bought Tao Zvezda which was highly recommended by a specialized shoe store. Felt comfortable in the store and walking around the house, but not enough cushioning and softness in the sole for those tired old feet. Very cute and fashionable, suitable for young people or those who don't have sensitive feet. Stumbled across Le Mouton and decided to take a chance based on shoe blog recommendations and Revain customer reviews. So happy I did. Possibly the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Amazingly comfortable upper and sole. I'm average and 8.5 with medium arch and moderately wide "crested" feet. I ordered 9.0 on the recommendation of the seller. At first I thought they were a little big, but then I removed the wool insole and inserted a PowerStep Original to give me stiffness and arch support. I use PowerStep in all my shoes and boots. Close but sad that it doesn't take full advantage of the wool liner/odor control. I tried putting a wool insole over the Powerstep insole but found my foot slipped too much. I ended up doing some research on the Revain and found the Journey by Powerstep insole, which is a full size Powerstep insole with a wool upper that is attached to the upper. Ideal! Gives me the semi-rigid arch support I love with heel support, dual-layer cushioning, cushioning foam, and an insulating wool upper. No more slipping into shoes. Now the shoots fit perfectly. I swapped out the white laces for flat black ones to give them my "dressed up" look. I'll take white laces with me to swap out for a "sporty look" during the day. ;)
