It was originally placed between my knees to relieve sciatica pain but my pain got worse as the pillow was much thicker than a regular pillow I originally used . The filling could not be removed because it was very thick. However, I later used it to support my back to sit on the bed and watch TV and used the side of the pillow to support my phone and maintain my posture. Actually I like it better for this purpose. I love that it's washable and has a zipper (not washed yet). In general, even I wanted to return it, but I couldn't because it expands after unpacking, making it difficult to repack and send back. So keep it and look for ways to use it.
