I have been doing strength training, especially for women, for over 35 years. As others have reported in weightlifting glove reviews, quality and durability have declined over the decades. In the early days I could expect 3+ years from a pair of Saranaks or Harbingers. Then it was only two years. Then a year. My last pair of gloves, Steel Sweat, showed wear after only a few months. Enter those contraband gloves. I've only had them for 15 training sessions, but so far they're exactly what I expect from gloves. They have a quality feel (good leather and stitching), the fingers are a good length, the wrist clasp is nice and wide but doesn't quite encircle the wrist, and they offer a great grip. Size up - I usually wear medium sized men's gloves and the Contraband Large is perfect for me. I'll update this review if the gloves show signs of premature wear, but fingers crossed I don't have to.
