I didn't have as much pump friction as some. I pulled my NP246 out of my '07 Suburban to see if there was a problem because I got (and still get) the famous GM clunk. I was hoping something in the transfer case had worn out after 185k but no luck. While I was at it I decided to fix the TSB issue with these transfer cases. I replaced and reinstalled the pump body. The product is of excellent quality and fits perfectly. Either you need it or you don't need it. If you have symptoms of pump friction (liquid leakage), buy this to fix future problems after repairing the case body :)
