I may have gotten a lemon but the dongle was always a little buggy when connecting to the HDMI cable. It worked fine initially - pass-through charging, HDMI worked when actually plugged in and I figured it was just Windows or the port that was the problem. However, in the end, my real USB-C port just stopped working. Nothing else could be connected or recognized and the adapter didn't work on my other USB-C port. I ended up having to turn on the laptop to fix the port. Can I blame that adapter or was it a crappy connector? So I tried (with great trepidation) to plug the adapter into my newly patched port - it recognized, but HDMI didn't work. You decide. I had high hopes for this small, compact, well-designed device with EXACTLY all the ports I need AND pass-through charging, but maybe that was asking too much.
