I can't cope with some people. Have you ever considered FLUSHING your carbon head before installing it? Serious? That's why my father told me that half of the people are below average. Rinse the cartridge under the tap for a bit and you have a fantastic in-ground filter for the money. What I said, just rinse it out. It washes off well, but over time it discolors the water a bit. I simply emptied the cartridge and filled it with high-quality charcoal. That negates the cheap factor, but not quite as you still have to change the cartridge over time. But yes, there is a slight color change over time.
