Review on 📷 Samyang 45mm F1.8 Autofocus Compact Lens for Sony E-Mount - Full Frame Compatible by Joe Glass

*DISCLAIMER* To get the best auto focus with this lens you need to update the firmware. To do this, you need to purchase the Samyang Lens Station for Sony E-mount cameras. It cost me $60. This lens is a great addition to my Sony A7Sii. I've only shot with manual lenses since I got the camera, but I've always wanted to see how good autofocus can be. To my surprise, this compact 45mm lens performs very well! The software will help you fine tune your focus speed so you can get some pretty cool shots if you have the patience. The quality of the glass is excellent and the image you can get from it is amazing. The only complaint I have is that I have to update the firmware to keep the lens working. I was trying to record video before the firmware update and it took forever to adjust the focus. After updating the firmware, we can say that focusing has become much faster and more accurate. The motor seems a bit noisy, but I didn't hear it from the sound picked up by my external camera's microphone. All in all, if you are looking for a cheap autofocus lens with this focal length, you can try this one. The only downside is the need to spend more money on firmware upgrades. It might be worth checking out other Samyang lenses to see if there are a few you'd like to pick up to make it easier to spend the extra $60 on the Lens Station alone.
