This is a simple, lightweight, inexpensive and very useful accessory for Fuji X100S (or any other rangefinder type camera) thread 49 mm). This is the shade recommended by David Hobby (aka The Strobist) in his Fuji X100S review. This adapter consists of two components. The first is a thin ring that screws onto the X100S lens or any other lens with a 49mm thread. The first component has a bayonet fitting that allows you to connect a second component, the hood itself, to it. The bayonet design is ideal as it allows you to quickly put the hood on or off, which is much quicker than having to put it on or take it off. Like David Hobby, I put a thin UV filter on my X100S lens. , and then I screwed the first part (ring) onto the front thread of the UV filter. If necessary, I attach the second component (lampshade) using the bayonet. This allows you to protect the lens with both a UV filter and a shade. It also allows me not to use the lens cap that comes with the X100S, which looks like it could fall off easily. I use a Marumi DHG 49mm UV filter which is high quality and slim profile. It also has a front thread, unlike some B+W thin filters.
