This 27 inch monitor from HP has replaced the 23 inch monitor from DELL and is a major improvement. I caution everyone not to jump to conclusions, especially when using new video cables. Right out of the box the picture, especially the text, is a bit blurry and not as sharp as the DELL, but after a few days of use, the video quality has improved a lot and is much better than the DELL. The refresh rate is more than sufficient for watching movies. Electronic and mechanical components as well as cables usually take some time before they reach their optimum performance. The rear stereo speakers, which receive signals from the same HDMI cable as the display, are particularly appreciated. One cable does it all, and the sound is more than adequate for casual listening. The volume can be adjusted via the MS Windows sound setting in the bottom status bar. I recommend this monitor for its excellent performance and reasonable price.
