At least in the US: The Energy Policy Act of 2005 stopped the production of magnetic ballasts as of January 1, 2009. Power have new ones Lights up either a quick start or an instant start (no need for a starter at all as electronic ballast is used instead of magnetic ballast). I have an old house and I still have an old faucet in my bathroom that needs an FS-2 starter. . 1 starter is much longer than many bulbs in general. The previous starter I replaced was also a GE brand FS-2 starter and has lasted me a little over 20 years. I expect this starter to last much longer than I have in this house and a spare will be there for the next owner in the future. This is an inexpensive item.
