I bought these to complete my living room entertainment system. I use them for surround sound in my 5.1 amp and the front bi-amp is the S55. I was really blown away by the sound quality. For me, HI-FI sound has always been a problem with parquet floors. I have a very large carpet, but I always find it difficult to make sure the sound isn't too bright. I made tiny bass EQ adjustments for the front, a little mid for the center and nothing for the back; the easiest setup (just measure and set the distances, quickly check the decibels with your phone, Niosh has a great free app and a couple of EQ settings. about 10-15 minutes if you're used to navigating through the receiver's menu to navigate). Polks with a Marantz NR1608 and I'm blown away. Sub SVS SB1000. I would consider this a budget or mid-range audiophile build, but of course that's subjective. For comparison, my basement/entertainment room setup is a 7.1 with the LSiM series including 707 for the fronts, powered by an RX-A3080 and Marantz. 5.1 power stage. I love it. But for the money I honestly think these 55s, S10s and the compact Signature Center are a lot better value. You can get a very good 65 inch branded 4K with the surround setup I have and an Xbox One S player for UHD for around $2400. There is a known factory authorized restore source for 55 with a simple search. I just watched John Wick 4k UHD in Atmos and now I'm watching Wick 2. Absolutely amazing.
