We bought these J-Racks for my wife's kayak and they mount on the roof of our truck. We have the Rhino Rack rail system and the brackets fit, but don't sit well on the underside of the rails. The J-bars are solid and I like the locking mechanism to move both the tall and short bars that hold the kayak in place. One downside from a safety standpoint is that the bottom mounting nuts are not tight so you may need to add an extra locknut to prevent them from loosening. The product comes with two additional ratchet straps on the front and back to secure the kayak forward and backward. However, they are not long enough. I ended up having to tie the front of the kayak to my truck's tow hook with a rope. Easy to use and attach, the kayak straps help the kayak stand on the J-Bars with ease.
