Review on 💡 Enhanced Siemens QSA2020SPD Circuit Breakers with Advanced Protection Features by Robert Hardin

This product was used to add whole house surge protection around 2008 after a power surge that burned several electronic devices. It was a very expensive undertaking. The original version of this product saw its most recent revival this year when a tree damaged neighborhood power lines. We didn't have any surge damage because this product withstood the shock and did a great job. Some of our neighbors are not so lucky. When power was restored the circuit breaker tripped (telling us there was a power surge, it was the only one that worked as intended), the switches reset but the green surge protector lights didn't go out so we knew that this was required to be replaced. While waiting for this replacement, 2 circuits controlled by the old unit were working, just with no whole house surge protection. This is a great feature as the main switch door is in a room we don't use every day and with the switch panel door closed you may not notice that the surge protector is off (some other products need to be checked visually). . Siemens now offers several new products with better ratings; However, I love this design because of the built-in switches. When the lights are off in the master bedroom and kitchen, but the rest of the house has power, you can bet our whole house surge protectors will get the job done.
