I bought this item on 09/01/2010, less than 8 years ago. These lights are installed under my kitchen cabinets and when new provided adequate but not exceptional lighting. They provided enough work light so I didn't have to turn on the overhead light for everyday use. After 6 months, 2 out of 10 failed. I contacted Inspired LED, sent them pictures of the broken strips and they sent me a replacement a week later. It's been less than 10 years since I made this purchase and to date 7 out of 10 glowing bars have around 50% of their power. original brightness. The other 3 are around 25% right out of the box and after a few minutes go up to 30% where they stay without getting any brighter. I expected LED bulbs to last a lot longer than they did. We regularly see 25,000 hours advertised as the lifespan of LEDs. They should last 10 years. If that's an official claim, why don't you offer a 10-year lamp replacement guarantee? Since we use them about 3 hours a day on average, I didn't expect such a short lifespan. I was hoping for at least 15 years of good lighting with 3 hours a day. The math might not add up, so shop carefully. Now I need to replace them, but I might choose something that uses low power LED bulbs instead as I can change bulbs as needed.
