Not that I don't trust glue. I don't think the drywall and paint on the walls won't come off if a kid climbs on a heavy object. It's not worth the risk. So I wanted them to keep the shelf on my counter in our office building. Easy to stick and adjust. Since I don't have anything to unlock, I can't comment on how well this part works. But I have a strap on each side of the heavier wooden shelf on the counter, and it's great I don't have to worry about getting hit and tipping over everything on it. So for that purpose I like it.
