Review on πŸ’§ Optimized PureDrop RTW5 Water Filtration Pre Filter for Drinking by Virgilio Feliciano

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Additional filters included! Great instructions all done.

Costs a lot more than I paid for, this kit was hard to find when sorting through other kits that weren't as good and cost over $400. I've used R/O for most of my life, back in the 80's it was pretty 'new', and kits and storage tanks have come a long way since then. This kit includes replacement filters for 6 months in advance and all o-rings have been lubricated with food grade silicone grease. Installation was easy, although the instructions use a lot of acronyms, it would be like being at home in the military. The only thing you need to know is that everything is color coded so put the colors where they should be for each hose. and you did Be sure to follow the instructions! Where it means letting a line slack, grabbing a bucket and turning on the system to clean it up, that's what you want to do. Activated carbon filters initially foul the carbon and there is no point in covering the P/O membrane with it so quickly. It flies out several feet, so catching it in a bucket isn't difficult as long as it's partially installed under the sink. I've only run it a few times after that, I use my own 5 gallon tank, it's practically brand new. We replaced the expansion tank on our old system because it was rusted through and I looked at the system the other day and realized how old and nasty it is. After the distance, I don't even want to talk about what I found. That's from 2004, enough said. Tastes like water and looks great. Very very happy with the price.

Pros
  • Water Filter and Softener
Cons
  • Not as thick as other kits
