Most solar panels I have seen in sporting goods stores did not have adequate edge protection and were easily scratched. In addition, they were not collapsible, which made them very prone to breakage and limited their portability. Finally a friend recommended this set so I did a little research and of course ticked the boxes for what I was looking for. My solar panels are well protected with a good buffer that works well in sand, mud, wet grass or just hard ground. Connecting to my portable battery pack is simple and straightforward. My favorite feature is obviously that they fold into a square instead of keeping a long rectangle in my car. The panels fold themselves and are thus protected from scratches and dents during transport. Last but not least, they have a built in stand for better alignment with the sun's rays, especially when I set it up in the early hours to get early sun rays when the sun comes up.
