Note from the buyer: Please note that this cable is fine. My neighbor who had a newer graphics card was able to get this cable to work with my TV and his computer, but not for me. Turns out the cable really matters if you want to run 4K. Here is my application example. I had an AMD 7470 graphics card and was trying to run 4K on a Vizio e43u-d2 TV that I bought from Costco. This cable didn't work for me. I ended up getting this and it works great. Pluggable Active DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 Adapter (supports displays up to 4K/UHD/3840x2160@60Hz)
