Finally my monitor works in full resolution with this cable. Confusingly, I didn't understand why my monitor wouldn't go above 1920x1280 with a different cable. With this new cable it works at full resolution of 2560 x 1440.

I bought these to use with the Cable Matters Dock. Cable Matters USB C Gen 2 Dock (USB C Dock) Dual DisplayPort 4K with 80W Charging for Windows - Compatible with USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports - Supports an external display with Macbook Pro Dock so I can use ACTIVE DP to HDMI can. These cables work great with no issues. The cables are good quality and much thicker than expected. I would like to buy again.

I bought 2 of these the week of 10/20/2019. Both were wrong. I was able to troubleshoot with two different systems. I also had a working cable, so I was able to verify that both hubs were actually working. I bought a working cable 6 months ago right on this Amazon listing so I know for sure they sent me 2 faulty cables in a row. It was very annoying. Hopefully this company will review their inventory and fix this issue. Edit: They send me a third replacement. I'll report if that works.

My Origin Eon 17 Laptop (Geforce GTX M980 Graphics Card) has an HDMI port to connect your laptop screen and external monitors can connect. Note from the buyer: Please note that this cable is fine. My neighbor who had a newer graphics card was able to get this cable to work with my TV and his computer, but not for me. Turns out the cable really matters if you want to run 4K. Here is my application example. I had an AMD 7470 graphics card and was trying to run 4K on a Vizio e43u-d2 TV that I bought from Costco. After plugging it in and running a few tests, the audio is great and the video quality at 1080p is excellent. I fixed the connection between my computer and home theater system and needed to use displayport from my computer to a Yamaha receiver. I've only used it for 1080p videos, not 4k, and everything worked fine once I plugged it in. Audio from DisplayPort to HDMI went through with no issues (which was one of my issues since it's not an active cable). I used two of these cables with my desktop to connect an additional monitor and an Elgato HD60 Pro, both of which require HDMI for connection. The picture quality and ease of use were amazing during operation, but just a few days ago both cables stopped working. I'm not sure if this could be an active cable issue or if it's just a quality control issue.
