My Origin Eon 17 Laptop (Geforce GTX M980 Graphics Card) has an HDMI port to connect your laptop screen and external monitors can connect. I figured if there were two display ports I could connect a monitor to each and have three displays (laptop + 2 external monitors). I read that active cables are better than passive ones so I spent a few bucks more on this product by buying two cables. Removed the HDMI/monitor cable, hooked up two monitors via DisplayPort and these cables to the laptop and everything works great!
