So I received it and immediately turned on the small switch inside the cap, arranged the bulbs nice and fluffy, put the cap back on and pulled on the transparent protective film. and nothing happened. I put my hand on the solar panels and they kind of flickered and then immediately went out. So! I thought I was a fool and tested them all the same and they all did the same thing. I was crazy! Our daughter then points out that we didn't charge her. Even though there is a battery in there (I thought they would run on battery power?) they NEED TO CHARGE IN THE SUNLIGHT FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE THEY WORK! We charged them up and that night I could see them happily illuminating our outdoor table until sunrise the next morning! They lie on the table all day and decorate the terrace all night. Been in the rain, then in the sun, and no problem! I love these little lights now that I know how to put on a show on the street! Good luck and make sure you charge them before expecting light! It's easy to make a mistake.
