Review on πŸ”‹ Makita XOB01Z Cordless Random Orbital Sander: Efficient Lithium Ion Power by Ian Bates

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great grinder, not too loud in my bones. Get 3Ah batteries.

Great grinder. Runs on a 3Ah battery, you can almost fully charge another 3Ah battery as quickly as it would consume one at full speed. Hands and hand bones don't tremble to death even without gloves - not really disgusting to use. Just run it across the surface - sandpaper doesn't get hot, if you don't press it just let it do its job. I've had great sanding results, despite having almost no experience with an electric sander, by only going through 4 or 5 types of paper (I used the Serious Grit brand, which is fine, but any paper with 8 holes will probably do). It's not too heavy and the high speed is good enough for pine and mesquite which I've done so far. The little bag is a joke. I turned it off and can see dust being blown out of the tube at high speed, so a fan needs to pull dust through 8 holes and blow air out. I ordered a universal set of vacuum fittings that will hopefully fit the basic shop vacuum I have, but it's surprisingly good on its own (though of course it makes a mess). Speed. I've found it to be a little less efficient in this case, so I'm constantly changing the battery to keep it running at near full speed. 2Ah will do some grinding, but it will run out quicker than you want it to. 3 is good, lasts longer than I expected at full speed.
