Makita XOB01Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 5" Random Orbit Sander, Tool Only.
I already have a couple of Makita LXT tools as well as a couple of 3.0 amp batteries. I didn't have a random orbit sander. Just a finished grinder that leaves marks and just doesn't work. I was building a shelf for my wife and had to sand down about 20 square feet of material. I didn't want to do it manually. So I got that. To be honest, I was afraid that the battery would not last. My batteries lasted long enough that I could charge one while using the other and I had enough time to fullyβ¦
Great grinder. Runs on a 3Ah battery, you can almost fully charge another 3Ah battery as quickly as it would consume one at full speed. Hands and hand bones don't tremble to death even without gloves - not really disgusting to use. Just run it across the surface - sandpaper doesn't get hot, if you don't press it just let it do its job. I've had great sanding results, despite having almost no experience with an electric sander, by only going through 4 or 5 types of paper (I used the Serious Grit
Uses 8 hole 5 inch velcro discs. I believe they are the most common type available at local hardware stores. The grinder is powerful and has a large β inch (3mm) orbital pattern. Having 3 speeds is good, but it can feel slow even on the fastest settings. It moves a little slower than most corded sanders, but sandpaper still cuts quickly thanks to the large orbital pattern. In fact, I use a coarser grit on this grinder than on faster corded grinders. The velcro is very flat. A very flat pad andβ¦
