AIVN Calligraphy Kit: 4 Ink Colors, 12 Nibs, Pen Holder, And Introductory Booklet For Improved SEO Review

I received this as a gift. It comes with one nice iridium nib and 11 cheap stainless steel nibs. The instructions are too vague about calligraphy to be useful, and tell you nothing about the contents--what are the various nibs? What is each one good for? I tossed it, as it was useless. The pen holder felt nice, but just now, when I removed the nib to clean it, the metal teeth that hold the nib bent and won't hold the nibs properly any more. I've had it for about a month.

Great looking set even though the pen is plastic. The only thing I didn't like is that there is no explanation of the nibs, their purposes and how to set them up. Yes I used Youtube to get that info, but as a "Beginner" set that should be included.

Um exact how does one use this? The vauge instructions are no help. I hope to update my rating to 5 stars once I figure it out. Smh

This is a good product and good value. I would not call it a true calligraphy set. It writes beautifully but it is really really challenging to create contrast between the upstrokes and downstrokes. So if you are looking for a product that will give you an italic calligraphy feel, this is not it.If that is not important to you, then go for it!

I am not a calligrapher. I hand make greeting cards and write original verse for them. I have tried various pens, brush tip and anvil tip, trying to dress up the printing. This pen is a joy to use. The printed nib does exactly what you want to do. It works perfectly for me.

I got these as a gift. So I’m not sure how they write but the gift box was gorgeous and the presentation was really in point. She loved them. The box was a little smaller than I expected but nonetheless it was still a wonderful gift.

Great product for a great price. I’m a beginner. Found the nibs easy to use, little quirky dipping them and finding a consistent flow with the ink… But I believe strongly that’s because I’m a beginner. After a little while I was noticing a nice rhythm and way to be consistent with the ink flow.

Unfortunately only 2 Pen tips worked out of the whole package. Very disappointed. The ink is beautiful but can't do much with it if I can't use the pens correctly.

My 8-year-old is into drawing, and so is her friend. This set is keeping them entertained while practicing their writing and some ink drawings. Sure, the end result still looks like crap, but these things take time. There are a lot of nibs for practicing different stroke width. I'm not an expert on calligraphy writing utensils, but it does feel a bit flimsy. Certainly appropriate for a child practicing writing, though.

I got this set because in a move some of my nibs were lost and I had no idea what would fit my old holder. Sadness. I REALLY like the feel of this holder, and the nibs are good quality. I think people who gave this item a negative review didn't give the nibs an initial cleaning.

My order was messed up. I got two of the same nibs. Overall good quality, but I would’ve appreciated the right nibs. That's my feedback!

My daughter bought this for fun. really well made, good value, writes well. The ink is a bit thin but other than that it''s fantastic. So I can’t really say what the quality is. However, she seems to really be enjoying it.

I love the colors in this set. And I’m a beginner. However, I’ve learned from videos and instructions on calligraphy that you have to press down harder for thicker lines and lift up for thinner lines. This pen does not endure thicker lines and harder pressure. The nib sinks into the pen too much thus breaking and not function for use as calligraphy. I have to buy a whole new pen. I’ve only used it for about 5-7 calligraphy sessions.

Half of the nibs that came with the set are manufactured incorrectly and do not fit in the pen (not like 'they're a tight fit but if you get pliers they'll work' -- they're visibly too large/flattened to fit within the diameter of the pen).

The ink sucks. It smears even after its dry. I ran my finger across some writing ONE WEEK after use and it smeared just as much as when it was fresh. The ink doesnt flow through the nibs cleanly. You have to press hard and redip after every word. Basically it makes a mess. Would be a fun toy for a kid but that's it. I will say the materials are nice and wouldnt fall apart easily.

I love this set, and wont be going to Hobby Lobby again if I ever need to replace them. They hold ink for much longer than most Ive used and the inks that come with them are amazing. Also there isn't a nib size I wouldn't be willing to use {usually there's at least 2 or three that I can't stand to use} and they glide smoothly over the paper without the annoying scratching noise! Highly suggest!

It's very simple and ready to use. It's comes with a instructional booklet the helps you know what to do with all the different tips.
