Samsung Gear VR 2016 version is pretty good. It feels well designed and comfortable. Using it is as simple as inserting the phone and putting it on your head. (You'll need to install the software first before using it, but just plug it into the headset and take it out after a few seconds to see the software if it's not installed. It's also a great reminder that While our smartphones can do wonderful things, it's not quite ready to be a supercomputer in your pocket.I have a Samsung S7 Edge and my phone heats up so much it almost burns my fingers after 20-30 minutes. This is crazy I'm sure it's not very good for phone life as electronics hate heat. You can try to keep cool by playing in front of a fan, but it works. The experience itself with the S7 Edge isn't smooth. Sometimes, most of the time, very bad jitter and lag. The video may freeze, but the audio keeps playing. Sometimes the video doesn't even show up, but the audio keeps playing. It's just a slightly frustrating process. All in all, it's still a pretty darn cool experience for only $20. You don't need a controller either. The touchpad on the right is very sensitive (bugs) and the buttons work well. The kit includes an adapter for USB-C and microUSB phones. I want to say that if your phone is the same size, it will fit most phones. but it could be the software that is limiting. UPDATE 20190910: not suitable for Samsung Note 8. That's what I mean, but it's a headache and it's VERY HERE. This comes with a USB-C connector but doesn't add any scope. If you order the 2016 version USB adapter, it will add a SMALL game, but it's not enough. I recommend just getting a used 2016 version for less than $30 rather than messing around with the 2015 version. It is not worth. Taking a star off the rating mainly because Samsung didn't anticipate making this headset for future, larger phones and didn't force us to buy more crap. but that's not enough.
