I have had several port/dock replicators for my MacBook Pro over the years. All my previous blocks failed (probably due to severe overheating at high loads). I've also found that many other devices take significantly longer to wake up my dual displays while this one picks up the wake up call from my laptop and turns my displays on within 2-3 seconds. I really like the ports and their placement on the back of the device, it's much more compact than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The transfer speed of files connected to it seems to be quite fast (at least compared to the previously used USB 3.0 hub). This is Apple's long-awaited decision to remove ports on a laptop. This solution, at least when I'm at home, is a welcome connection (just one cable) to my laptop and all my peripherals are plugged in and ready to go. I hope this lasts for a long time as I've spent way too much money replacing other equipment that has failed and is either out of warranty or the company doesn't exist.
