To tell the truth, I was looking for something for the house, soft as slippers, but not "sleepy" like most of them. I also didn't want a lot of fleece because it makes my feet sweat. I looked at the slippers and the sole was as thin as waffles. I wanted a pillow. I looked at soft shoes and the soles were either too thick and tight or too thin. These water shoes are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. The sole feels a bit soft. The outsole is durable yet soft and flexible with excellent traction. I have very sensitive feet and I really don't like the feel of seams in boots or socks. Inside there is no disturbing seam. I don't know how these people did it but they made an extremely user friendly product and I am very happy with my purchase. They are easy to put on and take off. It is clear that they can be washed.
