Update: I got another one and it didn't work so I spent hours trying to find out what was going on in the buggys wild forum was wrong. It turns out that the red and green wires are often confused. There is a white tab between the metal pins and the wall of the plug. I stuck a paper clip between the tab and the metal clip, pulled out the paper clip, and swapped it out. The battery voltage drop during use has now changed to 13.91V and is now charging my battery. Improved rating from 2 to 3 stars. Time will tell if it's worth 4 or 5 stars. Original post Dear DB Starter. I always get one for my boats, rebuild it at the factory and then vacuum it up, put it in a towel and put it in the boat in case it breaks at sea. Never had to return an OEM due to a DB error. So when I saw my golf cart had low brushes through the viewing windows. I ordered this, installed 8n, restored OEM and it's in the DB box as a backup. After 3 days, the voltage on the battery is 11.5 volts and hums to turn the engine. New Costco battery 2 weeks ago when I bought the car. Fluke starter? Frequent occurrence? I am not sure. I hope DB will write to me and let me know if this was an accident or a common occurrence. I want a new one but am waiting for their reaction to this different technology compared to their regular launchers. Could hopefully get a replacement but not sure if it will be a good alternator starter as another reviewer said it took 3 weeks. It takes 30 minutes to replace even arg
