Very strong and gentle. It's literally the size of a mobile phone when folded. The connections are very strong (good), but be careful when opening. I twist at the base of the joints for fear that something might snap or break as there is a lot of resistance. Maybe I'm just being too careful, but my son loves it and it's holding up great.
