I bought a standard DollaTek amplifier board a week ago and am impressed with it. But the bass was so-so. So I bought a 2.1 with subwoofer output but the opposite is true. The bass is muted, but the treble is muted. I simply hooked it up to (2) 4" marine speakers and an 8" subwoofer mounted in a simple box. I've tried tuning it to the best sound but it sounds ok. I turned the speakers all the way up and turned the subwoofer down to 90%, but the bass is still very heavy and the vocals sound muffled. I have to admit, somewhat disappointed. I hooked up a DollaTek board with no subwoofer and surprisingly it sounds a lot better! Mounting the speakers in a box made a big difference compared to placing them outside. Both are great for the money. I'll play with that some more. Maybe something is wrong, but that's my review for now.
