These are great bells for any craft project. The size corresponds to the description about 1/2 inch per piece plus or minus. I bought these to make some handbells for my Boy Scout troop and the holes in them are big enough to fit a pipe cleaner. They sound great for the thinner material they're made of. They lasted the whole parade and a bit longer, so I think they're made out of decent materials. I will be using what I have left over to make collars for my dogs for the holidays next year. I was apprehensive about buying them for this purpose, but I'm glad I did. You have a great sound
