My nipples are on the small side, measuring about 10-11cm in diameter. My third baby was born a month ago and I've been exclusively pumping for her. My other 2 kids, I only pumped to store some milk in the freezer, and once I went back to work. I used the flanges that came with my medela pump (27mm, I had no idea until recently that those are way too big!). With my second child I had a massive oversupply so even with the wrong sized flanges I pumped a decent amount but with the first baby I only ever got 1 ounce total using the flanges that were too large. When I realized recently that those flanges are too big AND I have pretty elastic nipples, I've been searching for the right flange to make exclusive pumping bearable. I even bought a pumpin pals set and while they are fairly comfortable and improved my output, these are even more comfortable than those and my output is the same! Not to mention they're much cheaper. I really like that the shield on these is small which makes doing breast compressions easier. If you have small nipples definitely give these a try!
