Canon 10D I have now about 6 months. After receiving it, I sold my film cameras because I no longer use them. The camera feels good in your hand. The controls are intuitive. The Canon manual is clearly written and easy to understand (unusual in my experience). You can change the ISO from shot to shot, and up to ISO 800 there's very little noise. You can go as high as 1600 or even 3200 but there will be a lot of noise. Auto white balance is good but not perfect. I shoot in Canon RAW so you can adjust white balance, exposure and contrast later. It's just wonderful. Canon's software is slow and clunky, which is why I use Photoshop CS. Photoshop CS transfers Canon RAW images seamlessly and allows you many useful adjustments. Auto focus is good. I have a camera programmed to focus where I want. When I do this, the focus accuracy is close to 100%. It is less accurate in full auto mode. The case is part metal, part plastic and looks pretty solid, but it's not a fully professional case. The internal flash is modest but useful in a pinch. I ended up buying the 550 EX which is excellent. A good digital camera is about more than megapixels. Canon firmware is second to none. IMHO, Canon is a clear leader in digital cameras. Buy with confidence.
