After 15 years of playing on personal computers, I am trying out console gaming for the first time. Before making up my mind, I looked at several reviews and read many words. As a result, I can confidently state that it is not. You can't do anything about the high price now. Every game costs the same. That's why it's important to know, going in, why this item is even in the house. In racing games, where the gas and brake pedals and steering wheel all have more nuanced functionality, the joystick is extremely enjoyable to use. This does not function on the keyboard. It's quite useful that headphones can be connected directly to the joystick; the shooters are full of garbage, and I study them for days until nothing comes out but rzhach from my own helplessness and anger. Less can go wrong in the dark, so it's best to play quietly and not run wires everywhere when it's time to jam. The primary takeaway for me was how the joystick adds a whole new level of immersion and feedback to video games. The moment you take control and steer, fire a weapon, or even just use both hands, everything shifts. Visuals comparable to the best PCs from a year or two ago, when there were few games like this. The two most important factors are rapidity and ease. I settled into my comfy couch, switched it on, and settled in to watch (or study). Several people have said that the distracting control panel caused them to lose sleep. When I tried to play NFS Undergraund 2 on my old Sonya laptop's integrated graphics, it was noticeably quieter, but only slightly. The speakers' tiniest noise will immediately drown out any other sound. Maybe I'll change my mind and use the disk to play some games. The price of games seems prohibitive, but I've linked my Plus account and am enjoying certain titles for free or at a reduced price (or both) right away. A used copy cost me 19k, then I swapped out the joystick. At that price, it's already more empathetic. While enjoyable overall, mastering the controls is the primary focus. It's like going from Android to iOS. Expensive, premium, and customized.
