
History. I have a Pampered Chef pizza stone that has lasted over 20 years. I bought this one because it was a bit larger and the handles would be useful when sliding the pizza in and out of the oven. We are Pizza FANS! This new one has been used TWO TIMES - once in an air grill at 550 degrees. Everything was good. The second time I used a barrel smoker converted to a pizza oven. The temperature didn't go over 400 degrees - when I opened the door to see the second pizza we made, the pizza stone was at least four pieces! It cracked while cooking and practically fell apart. Pizza was everywhere. I'm so disappointed - I really had the most amazing experience with Pampered Chef, this choice was easy. But I didn't have as much luck with this one as I did with the original (which also fell apart in the same way the same night). I have since switched to a cast iron pizza pan hoping it will last a little longer.
