We use them at the entrance to the covered porch; They are just inside the mesh door. They're very light, but since they're inside the screen, wind movement isn't an issue. We bought these because we liked the size and style and we wanted the mats to be machine washable, but they are thinner and lighter than we expected. We've washed them before and they came out of the washing machine looking like new, but the crease that formed where they were folded for shipping is still visible; I don't know if it will go away entirely. However, for the price, they are very valuable.
