This machine is quiet, very quiet and I love it. The sound it makes (I run it on 2) is soft, background, not even white noise. It doesn't interfere with anything I'm doing like streaming videos or just sitting and reading. It cleans the air and does its job well. This has improved the air quality in my living room enormously. The price is worth it and this is one of the best purchases I've made in years! Installation was brilliant, just remove the front, remove the filter, remove the plastic from the filter, replace it, put the front back in place, plug in. in and go. EPZ. Light/touch buttons are self-explanatory, the instruction manual is clear and concise. Pro: It seems to help spread heat. Clean air exits the machine at the top, making it act like a fan. I have baseboard heaters in my house and usually all the heat escapes through the roof. No longer! I bet it also helps in the summer by circulating cool air. Another plus: It's not ugly. Not at all. It's very smooth and unobtrusive.
