While I appreciate the volume, it doesn't reduce the maintenance frequency of small desktop humidifiers. The point about humidifiers is that they need to be completely changed out and cleaned at least once a week because they attract bacteria from the air, no matter how many supposedly antibacterial cartridges you put in them. However, being larger, it is inconvenient to remove and clean the tank unless it has been emptied. That's why I don't fill it more than halfway. If you're looking for a seasonal indoor humidifier that requires less maintenance, I'd look further.
