Good: The device has arrived, we will pack it. The suction cups come with protectors. The Velcro of the rear wheel lowers. The suction power is strong. The bike never touched the car. Known shortcoming when buying: only suitable for older axles. If you have a new mountain bike with a 15mm axle, you will need to order a separate fork mount and adapt it to the new mount. ($20). It took a few minutes but I knew what was going on. Mech: The aluminum brace flexes when testing the strength of the device by gently pulling on the bars. Not so hot what's up. Supports the bike adequately, but could be stronger. It also allows you to mount it on a curved surface, so I think that's a compromise. Doesn't give a way to secure the pedals/handle so they don't rotate and hit the roof. An additional Velcro would have been nice. Bad: The design doesn't use shims to distribute the load. Suggest adding quarter size shims if that poses a problem for you. Imo devices will fail in front of suckers. There is no exhaust valve. The only way to get these things off is to lift the edge and break the seal. No big deal installing on glass but be careful installing on paint. Safe axis. Lift the bike and unit to the car by removing the guard. Vacuum all cups. Lift the rear wheel and mount the rear wheel shell. Belted rear tire. Did. At the destination, remove the bike by breaking the seals on all the cups and dismounting the bike. Put the device in the trunk. All in all: a cool way to transport a bike. No cables, hitch, vehicle modifications, etc. to fiddle with. Very low chance of car damage if you are careful. It takes a few minutes from the top to hop on and off. 1/2 the price of "brand name". worth your money.
