Review on πŸ“Ί Dish Network 20.0 IR TV1 DVR Learning Remote Control: Ultimate Convenience for Your TV Viewing Experience! by John Hill

Great replacement for the remote control used by Dish Network, Echostar 5.01 IR TV 118575

While this replacement does not exactly match the product specification, it works great. Getting the basic functions of my Magnavox TV working is no problem, but it takes a few minutes for ALL the functions to work properly. The old remote had a lot of sticky buttons and it was very difficult to get the mute button to work. Be sure to leave a note with your order to specify whether you want Remote 1 for IR or 2 for RF. Setup issues: You may need a wizard and all the instructions you can get. I used some information from the internet to set up full TV control. You have to teach the new remote which TV you want to control; I ended up getting the TV device code from the TV itself! (from the instruction pages on the web). Press the red button on the TV. Double-click the pound key (#). The mode button flashes a number for each of the three digits of the device code, with a pause between each digit. My device code was 566. I then put that into the device code setup instructions and somehow magically the new remote worked perfectly. This time my assistant wrote the device code on the printed documentation in case I needed it in the future. The original authorized Dish factory installer did NOT do this. Some of the buttons have been moved in the new remote control and that's a big disappointment for me! (Ha!) By the way, I keep my old worn out remote in case I need it in Dish in the future.
