It just worked great! A little stretched.

11 year old child for the first time and did a great job. We didn't wrap ours in plastic wrap as we put the nori on the outside of the sushi. I found it stretched a bit so I would blow out the nori sheet if I twisted and squeezed the rollers a bit. This really isn't a problem unless you're trying to present them on a platter, as they'll hold together well once chilled in the fridge. My old mat didn't stretch so I wasn't ready for it. So don't press too hard. Kiddo turned out great. Oh, and I left the spatula in a cup of water while I worked, and it worked great for kneading the rice in the right position. Never used a smaller tool. You may feel this isn't the best sushi mat. In YouTube videos, these chefs have great rugs that you know will last. If you're wondering whether you should upgrade to a more expensive version, I'll tell you right away, you don't need to upgrade. nope save your money It does the job just as nicely. Everything you need is right here. I don't even have a rice cooker. Those cool sushi holders? Simply roll the chilled roll into the mat so ยพ inch is sticking out, trim and repeat the process. This set is quite enough for those who are not engaged in mass production of sushi. My family just eats them on a log as a handy sandwich alternative.
