First of all the mailbox looks great, I installed it about 6 months ago and it looked brand new before the incident. It works well for regular mail and small envelopes. Don't expect large packages in this mailbox as it's not designed for that. It's fairly secure, albeit with a few peeks, so I'm guessing the hack will be a little annoying, though to be honest, although $500 worth of secure mailboxes can be hacked with the right tools and motivation . this is a real review. I was sitting in my living room and I heard a horrible noise up front and low and now a huge pickup truck with a massive trailer has just smashed through my mailbox at a speed of 45 miles per hour. The trailer was bigger than a truck, so it crashed right into this mailbox. It hit so hard it shattered a pressurized 2 x 6 and I used it to attach it to a 4 x 4 post buried in concrete. The mailbox itself I found about 40 feet down the road in a ditch with 2 x 6's attached to it. I was prepared for the worst but it was only slightly scratched on one corner and the paint scuffed on others. The mailbox remained perfectly functional and only needed a minor touch up to make it look like new again. Now I'm not sure from all the other reviews but I was pretty damn impressed. This mailbox was hit by a truck and is still functional, safe and watertight for my mail. Not bad for $100.
